Willand Rovers 5 Tiverton Town 1

Premier Division South club Tiverton Town gave a chance to several fringe and young players in their derby at the Stan Robinson Stadium against Division One South hosts Willand Rovers.

And it backfired on them as Rovers ran out comfortable 5-1 winners.

It took only 5 minutes for Ryan Guppy to head the home team in front.

And on 22 minutes, Rovers doubled their advantage with a fine effort from Will Richards from the edge of the box which took a deflection before beating Tivvy `keeper Jimmy Weeks.

The visitors almost found themselves four down on 32 minutes, but Alfie Moulden`s shot came back off the frame of the goal.

Seconds later, however, it was 3-0 and this time Moulden made no mistake after a brilliant run and cross from Mani Skett.

A minute from half-time and Willand completed a great half for them when Moulden added his second of the game.

When one team has a lead such as this, the second period can often be disappointing, and although Andy Watkins did manage to reduce the deficit from the penalty spot after 64 minutes, Stuart Bowker eventually made it a nap hand for the hosts with 5 minutes remaining.
