Pleasing Early Evening WATCH

Slavia Prague v. Arsenal

I noticed on Arsenal.com that they were going to arrange a live stream from Prague for the second leg of the Champions League qualifying match between Slavia Prague and Arsenal.

As I have enjoyed watching the women more than the men recently for obvious reasons this seemed like a good option to pass a couple of hours.

The match started at 17:30 and the coverage was supposed to begin at 17:25 but as is usual when it comes to streams things got going somewhere between these two times.

The match started and it seemed like a good competitive contest with the occasional strong tackle. The womens game is still reasonably honest with hard hitting tackles rather than the Roy Keane type. All the girls got back to their feet and none were taken off for treatment.

After 45 entertaining minutes the score was 0-0 and I cannot recall any great shots or moments.

During the half time interval I noted the dates on my calendar for the F.A.Cup, F.A.Trophy, and the F.A.Vase. This season I have added the Womens F.A.Cup and the F.A.Youth Cup. I now know that most weekend one or other of these competitions is taking place.

The second half started and I saw a side of Vivianne Miedema that I have not seen before. There was a ball half way between herself and the Slavia keeper and she went to kick it just as the keeper made a grab for it. She connected with ball and the keeper who gave her a sideways glance. A Slavia midfielder came to remonstrate with Miedema and got booked but it was good to see her competitive side.

The determination was evident when Miedema scored the first goal, and the second goal and the third goal. Shortly after that she was substituted for Teyah Goldie indicating that we had won the match and were going to hold on to that win.

The win was assured when Kim Little took the penalty that gave Arsenal a four goal lead and an aggregate seven goal lead.

WE HAVE NOW QUALIFIED FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE.

MIEDEMA HAS NOW SCORED HER ONE HUNDREDTH GOAL FOR ARSENAL.

I have now followed by text or watched at least one match every night this week. Geek!

The weekend has the mens Under 18s and Under 23s playing along with the First Team.

ARSENAL v. NORWICH takes place at 15:00 on Saturday so I will need another feed.
