Braintree Town 1 Bath City 3

 From the non league paper:

Bath City returned to winning ways at Braintree, who suffered their first defeat of the season.

Two Cody Cooke penalties aided the Romans who wrapped up the game through Alex Fletcher.

Matt Johnson's close range effort momentarily had the hosts on terms but City defended superbly in a deserved success.

City took the lead on 34 minutes when Jack Batten's hanging cross was adjudged to have been handled in the box by Ezra Ikebuasi and Cooke side-footed the resulting penalty past Preston Edwards.

Arjanit Krasiqi hooked over when debutant stopper Will Fuller punched Johnson's throw away.

Braintree started the second half with a succession of corners and the pressure told when Fuller misjudged Davidson's delivery and Johnson bundled home on the line.

The Romans showed good character to regain the lead inside three minutes. Elliott Frear's cross hit the hand of the sliding Davidson and Cooke kept his cool to again wrong-foot Edwards from the spot.

A tremendous one-handed tip over from Edwards kept out Cooke's header and denied a hat-trick.

Substitute Mo Touray nearly wrapped it up when he rolled wide after a slalom run. City made it 3-1 on 89 minutes when Touray teed up Fletcher.
