The rest of a busy week

I shall start with the ladies and apart from Arsenal losing to Manchester City in the semi-final of last season's F.A.Cup there was one other match which featured Exeter Ladies.

Buckland Athletic 1 Exeter Ladies 6

Barnstaple Town continued a mixed set of results with their third defeat in a row. This time the team were at home to Cinderford Town on Tuesday and managed to lose the match 3-2.

Wednesday night saw three victories for my teams:

Tiverton Town 3 Weston-super-Mare 1

Exmouth Town 4 Bridport 1

Stoke Gabriel 1 Bovey Tracey 18 (A league record)

Thursday night saw both the men and women of Arsenal in action and I have already reported on that.

Before those matches took place Brentford were in action taking on Fulham in the Carabao Cup. A win would mean that Brentford had got further in the EFL Cup than they have ever been.

The Action

Once you have reviewed the action I can tell you that Brentford have indeed gone further than they have ever been in the cup and the reward for their progress is a home match against Newcastle United who very nearly went out to Newport County.
