Preston North End 2-1 Bournemouth: Late Emil Riis Jakobsen winner stuns Cherries
Preston North End came from behind to beat Championship promotion chasers Bournemouth at Deepdale, courtesy of Emil Riis Jakobsen's 89th-minute winner.
Jamal Lowe gave Bournemouth the lead after the break when he tapped in from close range following Jaidon Anthony's ball into the box.
Cameron Archer hit back for the hosts within four minutes when he fired into the bottom corner.
And Preston took the three points as substitute Jakobsen found the net in the final minute of normal time, with Bournemouth defender Adam Smith and boss Scott Parker sent off in the aftermath.
The result meant Bournemouth missed the chance to move into the automatic promotion places and they remain third in the table behind Huddersfield, but Parker's side have four games in hand on the Terriers.
North End, who stay 12th following their victory, went into the game having recorded 15 draws in the Championship so far this season - more than any other team in the league.
Archer was close to giving the hosts the lead in a even first half but fired over the bar after doing well to work on to Daniel Johnson's delivery.
The Aston Villa loanee once again threatened a goal before the break when he forced a save from Cherries keeper Mark Travers.
Lowe put the Cherries ahead after the break when he swiftly slotted in after beating Preston keeper Iversen to the ball but the lead did not last long as Archer once again latched onto a ball from Johnson before drilling home to equalise.
There was late drama to come after Preston took the lead in the final stages with Bournemouth claiming there was a foul on Philip Billing in the build-up to Jakobsen scoring his 17th goal of the season.
Smith, who was on the bench having been brought off midway through the second half, was shown a red card after the goal went in, along with Parker, capping off an afternoon to forget for the visitors.
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"We fought to try and get a home win which we haven't had for a while. It feels nice and I said to the group we've probably got five home games out of our next 10.
"I want the lads to start believing, to make this place a fortress.
"Away from home we've been great, but the more home wins you can get, the better you'll be."
Bournemouth boss Scott Parker told BBC Radio Solent:
"I just have not got a clue for the life of me why [a foul was not given.] Phillip Billing has just been assaulted in the middle of the park.
"There are some things that are unforgivable really and I just feel that that decision was a stonewall foul. The inconsistency is frustrating and obviously my emotions probably got the better of me at that point.
"I'm not sure why he sent me off. I did not use any foul or abusive language to him. I was animated, of course I was. But I just asked him why he hadn't given a foul.
"I'm not sure why Adam Smith was sent off."
