📝 REPORT: DURHAM WOMEN 0-3 BRISTOL CITY WOMEN

City Women secured back-to-back wins with an empathic 3-0 away victory over Durham at Maiden Castle.

Two goals from Abi Harrison and a late goal from Aggie Beever-Jones secured all three points for the Robins to leap frog Durham in the FA Championship table.

After netting in the first ten minutes Harrison became Bristol City Women's all-time record league goalscorer.

🧐 BACKGROUND

Lauren Smith named an unchanged side to the team that beat Crystal Palace 4-0 at the Robins High Performance Centre last weekend as the Robins went in search of back-to-back wins.

✍️ WHAT HAPPENED?

City opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Abi Harrison latched on to Melissa Johnson's perfectly weighted ball in behind the Durham defence, before lifting it over the keeper to hand the Robins an early advantage.

The Robins dominated the ball in the first half with Harrison, Johnson and Aimee Palmer all having chances to double the visitors lead, however their shots failed to trouble the Wildcats' keeper.

Minutes before half-time Harrison bagged her second as she smashed home from close range after Ella Powell delivered a pinpoint ball into the striker's feet from the right wing.

⏱ HALF-TIME

City had shown their strength going forward in the first half and would now need to a strong defensive display - as they did against Crystal Palace last weekend - to see out the game and head home to the West Country with all three points.

Durham piled on the pressure in the second half as they probed for an avenue back in to the game. However, they were met by a stern Bristol City defence, led by Brooke Aspin who put her body on the line time and time again to deny the Wildcats.

After Durham squandered an array of chances, Aggie Beever-Jones wrapped up all three points for the Robins in the final moments of the 90.
