Rangers produced a disappointing performance at Bovey Tracey on Saturday which ended up in a 3-1 defeat.
New signing Carl Jones came into the side at centre back with Conor Bryant and Sam Rawlings also returning to the starting line up .
The game started off with Bovey on top but Rangers gradually grew into the game and went 1-0 up after 25 minutes when a Sam Jones strike from 25 yards went into the bottom corner.
Rangers were then the better side and went into the half time break 1-0 up and fairly confident we could go on to win the game.
Unfortunately this was not to be as Bovey came out a different side in the second half and after threatening the Rangers goal on a few occasions drew level after 65 minutes with a great left foot strike from the edge of the box which left Aaron in the Rangers goal with no chance. Ten minutes later a long ball into the left channel saw the referee adjudge Langers to have pushed the Bovey striker in the back when it was clear to all he had just lost his footing. This resulted in a yellow card for Langers which was one of numerous yellow cards dished out in what was a keenly contested but never a dirty game. From the resulting free kick Bovey took the lead when their substitute who had entered the field during the break in play scored with a fine header. Five minutes later we failed to deal with a corner which was swept home to make it 3-1 to Bovey. Almost straight away we were down to 10 men when Carl Jones who was very impressive on the day received a second very soft yellow card of the day to be very harshly sent off. Following this we still could have got something from the game when Joe Wilkinson had two one on ones with the keeper but in all honestly Bovey thoroughly deserved the win after their second half performance.
