From the Bridgwater website:
Hounslow 0 - 3 Bridgwater United
After the win in the FA Cup last week, Bridgwater were back in league action against Hounslow.
Hinchcliffe, after her pleasing performance against Chichester, made it into the starting eleven, along with Wilson-White. Lydia Huntley made her debut in defence whilst Turner, Gilroy and Llewellyn all dropped to the bench.
When Hounslow got the game underway Bridgwater seemed to have the more positive of the play. Wilson-White used her pace and managed to get the ball into the box. However we weren’t able to finish the chances.
United were able to force the Hounslow keeper into saves and Burridge had a chance early on when a corner found her. Unfortunately her header was wide of the post.
On the fifteenth minute the first goal of Dudley-Jones’ three was scored and Bridgwater had a deserved lead.
Throughout periods of the first half, Hounslow were allowed space and progress up the pitch. Howard had to make some saves and was able to keep the clean sheet.
Close to half time and Burridge tried her luck from far out (we’ve seen her score them before) but the ball flew over the bar.
Not even a minute later and once again Dudley-Jones was able to find the back of the net and gave us a 2-0 lead at half time.
There wasn’t too much to report in the second half. United had some positive spells but Hounslow were able to win the ball back and try and create a threat themselves.
Just after the hour mark, Ellie Bell and Chloe Gilroy came on to try and make an impact.
Later on in the game and there was a lengthy stoppage as a Hounslow player received treatment but she was fortunately able to get up.
Laura Holden was able to challenge the keeper and Hounslow had to make a save. There wasn’t too much time to go but Meesha Dudley-Jones had enough time to be able to get a hattrick and put us in a good position ahead of a big game next Sunday. United travelled back to Bridgwater with three points and move up to third in the league table.
