The Ravens were rampant in their 3-0 victory against Weymouth on yet another chilly Tuesday night at Hayes Lane, as they extend their winning run to four in a row.
Bromley started the game on fire, with the first goal coming after just ten minutes, and it was the main man Michael Cheek with the goal – the No. 9’s first time finish at the back post from Corey Whitely’s cross was his eighth goal in as many games this season.
The Ravens did not hold back after the goal, with Joe Partington, Luke Coulson and Whitley all picking up chances which could’ve seen Bromley’s lead doubled, but Ross Fitzsimons in the Weymouth net had other ideas.
Weymouth were very sloppy in the first half, leading to a plethora of chances for The Ravens, and Cheek especially, who could’ve had a hat-trick by the break.
Bromley kept the pressure high late into the first half with even more chances coming their way.
George Alexander had the pick of the chances as he latched on to yet another sloppy pass from The Terras but his shot was saved yet again by Fitzsimons.
However, from the resulting corner, Bromley finally doubled their lead as the initial ball from Coulson couldn’t find a Bromley head – but Chris Bush’s low cross back into the box managed to sneak a way into the net at Weymouth’s near post and The Ravens went into the break 2-0 to the good.
The start of the second period was much different from the first, with Weymouth coming out firing, forcing a great save from Mark Cousins and heroic blocks from Byron Webster and Bush.
Weymouth carried on their early second half pressure way past the hour mark but Bromley’s second half substitute James Alabi put the game to bed for The Ravens with just over ten minutes to go as he taps home Cheek’s cross.
Just three minutes later, Alabi had another great chance but his header smashes off the post as he failed to double his lead.
This result saw Bromley climb the National League table into sixth, just two points behind Halifax Town, who have played two more games than The Ravens.
As for the opposition, they remain 17th in the table, but extent their poor run of form, who are now without a win in five matches.
