Shaldon's winning ways continue!

The Ladies produced a really impressive performance today to run out 6-1 winners against Plainmoor on home turf.

The team that began the game was pretty much the same team that ended the last one, with a few tactical tweaks, one of which was met with Rosh saying "but I can't play up front!" (Read on to see how that went ) and with a super bench waiting to come on and make an impact!

The game started with very tricky conditions, a soggy and muddy pitch coupled with fierce winds which meant any ball in the air had a mind of its own! It took both teams a little while to settle in to the game because of this, but soon Shaldon found their rhythm and dominance.

The first goal was scored by (you guessed it!) Rosh, who despite thinking she wouldn't know what to do up front, showed her skill and class with a great finish. Plainmoor then managed to pull a goal back by pouncing on a defensive mishap. But Shaldon got their heads back in the game and responded almost immediately, with a goal from our resident striker Millie, who rifled an effort past the Plainmoor keeper. Shaldon were beginning to show their dominance now.

The goals started to flow then, and this carried on in to the second half. Maria hit a rocket of a shot past the keeper, there was no stopping that! Rosh then got in on the scoring action again with a brilliant goal. And then Millie scored again! It was a race to see who could get to a hat trick first!

Rosh finished a fine performance up front with her 3rd and the final goal of the game. A hat trick for the lady who was convinced she couldn't play up front. Fantastic!

What a brilliant attacking display today, that was made even better by how well the defence played as well, which showed in the fact that Emily, our keeper didn't have an awful lot to do, but what she did have to do she did well! The defenders were confident and physical, the midfielders ran the game and the attackers showed their class and eye for goal by scoring so many awesome goals.

A real complete and convincing game from the Shaldon Villa Ladies! And their 3rd win on the bounce!!

The Ladies are working so hard in training, and the coaches are really helping to improve the team and its all beginning to click!
