Why change?
Tiverton Town are slightly further up the road now but it is still not far.
I could have let Weston-super-Mare be my team at this level for the coming season. Other possibilities were Poole Town, Taunton Town, Wimborne Town or Truro City but Tiverton are the sitting tenants at this level and maybe, just maybe I will actually get to watch a live match this season.
The friendlies started with defeats to Tavistock and Exeter City but that was followed by a 5-2 win over Wellington (Somerset). Torquay United then visited Tiverton to inflict a 1-0 defeat on the Yellows (so I can add that result to my Torquay page). A good 4-0 win away to Barnstaple probably says more about Barnstaple than Tiverton and a 3-1 win over the Royal Marines shows commitment to the local community. Two 1-1 draws against Mousehole and Cullompton Rangers concluded the friendlies before the real action began.
The first two league matches resulted in a 2-2 draw at home to Hayes & Yeading United and this was followed by an away win 2-1 at Poole Town. Next up are Walton Casuals.
