WSL : Arsenal (A) Manchester City

 Manchester City 2 Arsenal 1

From the BBC Sport website:

Caroline Weir reignited Manchester City's Women's Super League title hopes with a last-gasp winner against top-four rivals Arsenal.

The game was heading for a frustrating draw until Weir's super stoppage-time strike found the bottom corner.

Vivianne Miedema pounced when Lucy Bronze lost possession and fired a 20-yard shot into the far corner to put the Gunners ahead.

Sam Mewis headed in Chloe Kelly's corner to level as City hit back.

City, who are the only WSL side to have more wins than defeats against the Gunners, closed to within a point of their opponents in fourth, while third-placed Arsenal slipped four points off top spot.

The hosts appeared sluggish after their midweek Women's Champions League win in Gothenburg, but Arsenal, who boast the league's top-two goalscorers and providers, failed to make their early dominance count after Miedema's opener.

City are unbeaten at home in 26 league matches and Mewis' equaliser - their fourth successive headed goal in the WSL - sparked the hosts into life as they seized the momentum.

They racked up 16 shots on goal as the heat was steadily turned up on the visitors, but when Katie McCabe cleared Steph Houghton's late effort off the line, Gareth Taylor's side seemed to be heading for a fourth draw of the season.

Yet there remained time for a twist when Georgia Stanway's blocked shot fell to Weir, who curled in a low long-range strike to consign Arsenal to back-to-back away league defeats for the first time.
