Arsenal Women 9-0 Crystal Palace Women: Gunners march into Women's FA Cup last eight
Joe Montemurro praised Arsenal's "brave" finish to his four-year tenure after they swept aside Crystal Palace to reach the Women's FA Cup last eight.
The Gunners marked their coach's final game in charge by putting nine past Palace, with eight different scorers.
"We finished a brave way, trying some new things and taking some risks," said Montemurro.
"It was a nice summary game to recap everything we've worked on. I felt all week we wanted to go out on a high."
The Australian coach, who is taking a break from football, led Arsenal to their first Women's Super League title for seven years in 2019.
He also managed the Gunners to four domestic cup finals and leaves after securing a place in next season's Champions League.
"It's been brilliant from the fans. They understand I made the decision on what's best for the club," added Montemurro.
"I'm sure the club will go on to bigger and better things."
Kim Little opened the scoring with a sixth-minute penalty before Beth Mead and Danielle van de Donk struck in quick succession to give the Gunners a 3-0 half-time lead.
Swiss defender Noelle Maritz lashed home her first Arsenal goal on the hour and Caitlin Foord supplied assists for Jordan Nobbs and Vivienne Miedema to extend their team's advantage further.
Dutch midfielder Jill Roord, who will move to Wolfsburg this summer, came on as substitute and signed off by netting the Gunners' seventh.
Katie McCabe set up Maritz to register her second of the game before rounding off the scoring with a stoppage-time free-kick.
Arsenal, who have won the FA Cup a record 14 times, will compete in the last eight in September, with the final due to be held in December.
