Tiverton took on Merthyr Town and came out 1-0 winners. The fact that it was a River Allen penalty should not detract from a very good defensive performance.
Elmore took on Torridgeside with the result being a 1-1 draw. Sadly their website still talks about this match as if it is in the future.
Arsenal started their Europa League campaign by pretending to be worse than Eintracht Frankfurt. In an open game there could have been a dozen goals but Frankfurt shot high wide and straight at Martinez whose hands were like superglue on the night. Arsenal missed several golden chances of their own but won the match with a deflected Willock shot, a marvelous Saka shot to the corner and a three on one where aubameyang kept the ball to himself to score the third.
