Those missing results

So,

Arsenal beat Fenerbahce 2-0 to win the tie overall 5-0 and qualify for the Champions League group stage. It also saves EUFA the problem of having to throw Fenerbahce out of the competition.

Brentford lost 5-0 to Derby in the cup. They can concentrate on the league now until the F.A.Cup comes around.

Yeovil handed Birmingham the match by gifting them a walk in goal. They lost on penalties after the match finished 3-3. It is all very well taking the moral high ground but it more often than not results in defeat.

Focus now shifts to the weekend ahead.

3-0 to the Arsenal

Podolski!

That man can shoot.

Arsenal are now in a safe position with the scoreline that I predicted before the match.

Can we go on to better that scoreline or will we concede a silly goal?

Happy days.

Western League First: Barnstaple Town

My Level 10 choice has remained within the Western League.

I will start another list and call it my "Local Pyramid" for the Elmore Eagles and Exwick Villa.

Here again I go for the nearest local team. Barnstaple is about two hours drive from here.

Three wins out of three suggests a good team have been put together in Barnstaple.

North West Devon must be one of the most remote areas in England so I need to set aside time to get in there and get out again if I am going to watch football in the area.

The table came from the Western League official site.

Western League Premier: Buckland Athletic

The Western League Premier Division is at Level 9 of the football pyramid and here at last there are players that I know and have spoken to.

It is for this reason that I have chosen Buckland Athletic as my team.

It seems that they have started the season well.

Southern League South & West: Tiverton Town

This league really only gave me the one choice.

Tiverton is half an hour up the road and although it has a reputation for people with six toes and three eyes I keep meaning to go and see what football is like at this level.

Perhaps, this season, following this project, I will finally get to see the boys dressed in yellow.

Southern League Premier: Bideford

I looked for somewhere local in this league.

I had the choice of Weymouth or Poole, both places I have visited following the old Exeter Falcons speedway team.

I decided, however, to stay in Devon and I have gone with Bideford.
